How to use the 5 letter word finder
- Green letters: type them into the matching box. For example, if the second tile was green R, put R in box 2.
- Yellow letters: type them into “Include these letters”. They are in the word but you don’t know where yet.
- Gray letters: type them into “Do not include these letters”.

Will this spoil today’s Wordle answer?
No. The finder never shows the daily answer. It only lists words that fit the letters you enter, so you still choose your next guess yourself.
Where does the word list come from?
We use 8,626 five-letter words from the public-domain ENABLE word list, which is widely used for word games. About 2,300 of them are marked as common words based on how often they appear in everyday English. Common words are the most likely Wordle answers. More about our data.
How do repeated letters work?
Type a letter twice in “Include these letters” to require it twice (EE finds words with at least two Es). If a letter is green or yellow and also gray, put it in both places: the finder then looks for words with that letter exactly as many times as you marked it green or yellow.
Can I use it for Scrabble and Words With Friends?
Yes. Switch the sort to “Scrabble score” to see the highest-scoring words first. Scores use standard Scrabble letter values without board bonuses.
What does the underscore in A___E mean?
Each underscore stands for one unknown letter. A___E means five-letter words that start with A and end with E. You can also type a pattern like that straight into the boxes above.
